A busy & developing role within our client’s UK Finance department to be responsible for all aspects of purchase ledger and to assist with other finance and administrative based tasks.
To provide financial support to the Finance Manager and Financial Controller.
Duties and responsibilities
Responsible for the purchase ledger, including the accurate posting of all invoices and credit notes to correct nominal accounts and dimensions.
Control of daily cash book reconciliation.
Update cash planning spreadsheet daily in line with bank statements and known commitments.
Responsible for weekly net debt reporting to Group, which involves analysing actual expenditure against forecast and providing commentary on the variances.
Payment of UK creditors in line with the cash forecast.
Payment of foreign suppliers according to the agreed terms in line with the company cash forecast.
Process monthly expense claims for employees and raise the relevant payment for employees.
Reconciliation of supplier statements.
Reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
Reconciliation of month end cash books.
Posting the Deferment Duty and VAT entries and reconciling on a monthly basis.
Raise monthly nominal ledger journals as required.
Assist Finance Manager & Financial Controller with Month End & reporting.
Resolve domestic and foreign supplier queries in a timely and professional manner.
Intrastat – sales and purchases – to submit to HMRC in accordance with their regulations and deadlines.
Finance administrative tasks / reports when required.
Post and bank runs on a rota basis.
Provide holiday/sickness cover for other roles within finance on an adhoc basis.
The applicant will have experience in an Accounts/Finance environment for a minimum of 2 years. Studying for AAT is an advantage but the role will also suit those qualified by experience.
IT literate and experienced in Microsoft Office software.
Microsoft Navision experience will be an advantage but is not essential.
The ideal candidate will possess good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload. The candidate will also be accurate and capable of working to deadlines. The role will require working independently and as part of a team and will require flexibility to assist in other areas as required.
The candidate will also require a clean driving licence.
