This is a permanent position with a salary circa £35,000
The position will involve developing, implementation and managing the manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment designed to ensure continuous production.
Ensure that these manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment meet or exceed the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 certification.
The design and implementation of new products are also included in this position
Candidate will perform duties and responsibilities with direction from the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
This will include
Develops and implements safe, optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment platforms.
Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production workflow, machining and finishing operations, assembly methods, and equipment specifications.
Recommends and implements improvements
Designs, develops, tests, and/or outsources various tools, machinery, and equipment.
Develops manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, routers, work instructions, job safety analysis, and control plans
Reviews and/or creates customer engineering drawings and models (2-D and 3-D) to ensure they are appropriate for release to the manufacturing shop floor.
Prepares quotations for labour, tooling, and equipment to support the business unit requirements.
Performs product/process analysis and implements continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction, scrap reduction, yield improvements and increased overall equipment efficiency.
Supports the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations.
Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products, processes, and equipment.
Evaluates, troubleshoots, and solves production problems on the shop floor.
Assists in training
Assumes responsibility for the safety and environmental issues associated with the manufacturing processes and equipment.
Evaluate the ergonomic aspects of current and new processes. Implement ergonomically sound solutions that address the concerns discovered through the evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
Minimum 5 years related manufacturing experience is desired.
Prior experience working with manufacturing processes that utilized CNC & Manual Machining Equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.) is required. ·
Trained in the use of AutoCAD, Solid Works, and/or ProE computer software is desired.
Basic understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001/AS 9100 is desired. Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques is desired.
Must be capable of travelling within the US and Internationally.
