Our client is looking for an experienced HR Advisor to work within their offices in Rugby and Hampshire (2 x days per week in Hampshire). They are open to full-time or part-time (min 25 hours part-time).
The role is to start straight away and will be ongoing (possibly permanent further down the line).
The role has a recruitment bias but will also focus on generalist aspects too.
To provide generalist HR support, advice and guidance to leaders and employees.
To support various HR activities, projects and programmes as required.
To major on recruitment activity for both permanent and temporary hires
As well as having specifically focussed tasks the HR Advisor will work across all areas of HR including employee relations, recruitment, welfare, mobility, compensation & benefits, HR transactional activity, processes, procedures and HR tools.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Build and maintain strong working relationships with business partners, working with leaders to understand their priorities and work pro-actively with them to provide value added business focussed HR solutions and interventions
Educate leaders and employees on HR policy, process and procedure
Follow end-end recruitment process supporting the Recruitment Lead in all activities
Provide good practice generalist HR advice, guidance and support to leaders and individual performers, including in respect to effective employee relations and employment law
Operate as a trusted, credible HR generalist advisor
Support in the development of job descriptions, job evaluation and salary benchmarking
Support organisational change, restructuring and development
The role also requires:
Daily contact with leaders at all levels as well as employees
Regular contact with other members of professional support services, primarily legal counsel and finance business partners
Contact with suppliers and third-party providers, for example external legal counsel, recruitment agencies and system hosts.
Academic and Technical Qualifications:
CIPD qualified or qualified by experience and working towards CIPD
Other technical expertise, experience and knowledge:
A proven track record of providing generalist HR support at all levels
Experience using HR tools and processes including recruitment portals
A proven track record of managing employee relations
A sound knowledge of current and future employment law
Experienced in Microsoft Excel
Good IT literacy
Contractual terms – understanding of contractual terms
Experienced in dealing with trade unions, TUPE, redundancy, dismissal etc. would be advantageous but not essential
